Welcome to the blog section of our new website.

Here Sara and I and guests will post musing, links to stuff that interests us, follow ups to workshops and events.

Neither of us profess to be writers, but we hope you will find some of what we share, useful, enjoyable to read, funny, challenging, and worth stopping by here from time to time.

Let the light pour in

Let the light pour in

I made another full turn around the sun on 1/1 and was a lucky recipient of a beautiful book by Lemm Sissay - “let the light pour in” What an absolute delight. There’s something about the ability to start my day not by reaching for the phone and “doom scrolling” but reaching for this small book of poems. (I actually have a few day books that are my go to).

It takes minutes to read each one (not even that) and often I read more than one, but the impact of making this choice goes way beyond what I anticipated.

Yogic thought

When I choose to ignore the pull of news, and put down the never ending to do list - in favour of something that feels more mindful and nurturing it changes the shape of my whole day. I have begun to notice these pause moments are beginning to slowly extend. My pace is a little slower, I’m more open to sit and be …. to give myself time to mindfully drink that delicious first cup of coffee, and to truly focus my attention on being with Ted as he cuddles close in thanks for his breakfast.

There will always be some thing to do. That cloud of obligation looming overus - the darkness if you will. These days I am choosing to let more light pour in to the start of my day.

Why not give it a try! Here was todays poem:-

“The lesson of the dawn is
subtle and sublime…
take it easy, but take it all
one day at a time
